haha no i'm not extremely arrogant or obsessed with my baking skills (well, just a little XD) but this was the title of the recipe i tried some days ago. and indeed, these chocolate chip cookies could really take it up with those giant cookies you can find in subway restaurants and they taste much much better than my favourite american chocolate chip cookies from the supermarket - but that's not only my reward, but especially from the phenomenal recipe which you can find here: click!
for all my english readers here's the recipe:
ingredients:
250g butter
200g cane sugar
175g white sugar
1tsp. buttered vanilla flavour
2 eggs
375g flour
2tsp. baking powder
300g chopped dark chocolate
200g chopped nuts (i used walnuts)
... i also used a bit of nutmeg - i love the extraordinary taste and it gives a bit of spice to the cookies and makes them much more yummy!
what to do?
preheat the oven to 175°C.
whip the butter with both sorts of sugar. stir in the buttered vanilla flavour and the eggs.
mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl, then stir it into the buttery mixture. at the end fold in the chocolate and nuts.
take a tablespoon full of dough and put it onto baking sheets covered with baking paper and bake the cookies at 175°C for 10-15 minutes in the oven.
let the cookies stand on the baking sheets for about 5-10 minutes, then let them cool down on a cooling rack or plates.
you'll make at least 75 cookies with this recipe! and guess what ... there are only 4 left here :)
